The Stanly County Museum is growing! In the spring of 2007 the Museum’s Board of Directors contracted the architectural firm of Ramsay, Burgin, Smith to evaluate the Museum’s public spaces, storage area, and future spatial needs. By late summer the firm presented the Board with a conceptual rendering more than doubling the size of the Museum’s exhibition and public space. The plan also expanded staff work areas and added some much needed storage space.
The reason for our growth is because of your generosity! Stanly County’s citizens have graciously donated more than 17,000 artifacts to the Museum—from postage stamps to a Conestoga wagon.
With the County’s continued support the Museum’s Board, staff, and volunteers are launching a capitol campaign to raise one third of the construction costs—nearly $400,000.
Please help us continue to save our local history. If you are interested in giving or volunteering to the Museum, contact us at:
